Description

I would suffer the pain of your touch & the fear of the unknown to be like you... I think watching Underworld & Underworld Evolution yesterday had an impact haha. Since I was a digital artist before a traditional artist, and I am still pretty much drawing from sight, I worked backwards... I set the scene in Poser, did a quick & crappy render, and used it to work from. Listened to Gary Numan while working on this... awesome music to draw vampires to =P For a change, I'm actually pleased with this! 18 x 24 inch charcoal on Drawing Paper, about 4.5 hours. Thanks for looking! Comments & constructive critcism welcome.

Nice sketching! If you know who Boris Vallejo is... and if not, you can google him... he first photographs live models in the poses he has in his mind. Then, he works from those images to compose the overall idea of the image he then paints with oils. It's quite a process that he goes thru. So, I wouldn't be too concerned with having to work from some sort of image to get to the finished rendering. In fact, I wanted to learn to render 3D just for that purpose. However I just couldn't get the hang of rendering 3D. Too much a dinosaur I guess.... So, like Boris, I photograph when I can and work from those, to render my sketches.
