Great looking profile - Rob has a capture of a Vickers F.B5 Gunbus in his gallery as well. Hard to imagine such a design getting the name 'Destroyer' from the perspective of history. I imagine to the designers they had a different perspective.

I've never seen this pre-war effort by Vickers. Great render!

Once again OUTSTANDING!!!! I've seen a couple of grainy pictures - and that's all! This is much clearer and I to, cannot see how the designers thought it could be called 'Destroyer'! Still There you go. Another great one. Cheers. Rob.

In the context of the now obviously inaccurate stories of the developement of armed aircraft, where they were supposed to have progressed from pistols and hurling objects into each others propellors. It is clear that this one earned it's name of Destroyer by being armed with a watercooled Vickers machine gun from the start! Startling indeed for an enemy. In view of all that "string" knitting it was very wise for it to be fixed forward firing. I would have flinched every time I heard a twang. I live and learn most enjoyably, thanks Geoff.
