Description

This is mostly an experiment with making a human figure glow or shine. I have ideas for how I want to use this, but for now, this is all I have done. I think it looks pretty awesome, though. This is done in Carrara 6.2 Pro. I took Aiko 3 and altered her materials by changing the color and adding a glow channel, but the glow channel is not very intense. That is important to know. The aura comes from the 3D Aura effect, which Carrara applies as a post render effect. Also, the starburst is my alteration of the Anamorphic II lens flare. I absolutely love lens flare! The kind that really looks like a camera with the reflections and all seems a little out of place much of the time, but the starburst effect is fantastic!! It actually took quite some time to get all of that adjusted the way I want. To get the lens flare, I added a point light just in front of her lower chest. Accidentally this gives her excellent lighting as well. I think this turned out to be a pretty nice piece afterall. Oops, I forgot to mention that I used Photoshop to blur out a few jagged lines around the edges of her body and hair a bit. Chris, this is way too awesome considering you were "just experimenting" in Carrara. You can really make a lot of awesome renders with this technique. This one just blew me away. 5+++
