A very rare sight indeed. How fortunate you were to be there. Kind of a gray day too...but nothing much to be done about that...unless you have a spare sky sitting around:)

if I could afford to take a ride in one of these, I would like the tail gunner position on takeoff and switch to the front gunner position for landing and be shooting like crazy with my camera

That's the Mynarski memorial Lanc (VR-A). Part of the Canadian Warbird Heritage collection. I think they have their base in Hamilton, Ontario. Beautiful plane, great shot.

@Tamarrion. You are correct. I didn't want to mention this again since I had posted two other images of this same aircraft before, Sig...

It is amazing that so much of the oldies still fly,and i guess well maintained from the people who love them. i guess they are better maintained than some of the crappy ones flying passengers around. the calculation is simple. the airlines are in a real war concerning coasts ok i understand this. so they reduce coasts and what is the easiest way, well put some 5,6,7,10 thousand people on the street,so sometimes we do not do a 300 hour-check here and leave one 200 hour-check here and so shit happens. this is my IMAO.
