Stellar documentation of this practice. I can't imagine leaving them to ruin. Bad enough to steel them but why not just dump them someplace where someone else can find them and either return them or re-use them? I hate waste!

It's a crazy world, we have this in London too, when push comes to shove, and all this crap in our rivers and canals messes up the PH of the water, they'll be the first to go whinging and whining when the taxes rise to clean up the rivers, nice slice of urban life well captured.
