Common Pond Skater (Aquarius lacustris). To answer a question some people have been asking: I use a Nikon Coolpix 8700, no extra lenses but the fixed one it comes with. Thanks for viewing ! :)

You have one awesome macro there! I love the way the water looks - like half set jelly when you test how well it sets...or that layer you get over custard when it goes cold....lovely! :)

Another fine shot.These are fascinating insects.They are so interesting to observe.I have heard some people call them the Jesus bug because they can walk on water.
