Description

This guy did traditional Polynesian style tattooing where a stick with a needle is tapped with another stick over the skin. He worked on one guy for the better part of two days while two girls held him down. At the closing of the show he broke out this drum and the girls did a traditional dance. More on this type of tattooing here: http://www.pbs.org/skinstories/culture/index.html

I have not seen this type of tattooing done but I have read about it and seen it on TV. I have thought about trying it just to understand it better but I'm not sure I am strong enough. Still, you never know what the future will bring. I am very interested in the old style of doing anything and this is one of the oldest forms of tattoos. Great shot of the end of the ritual.

The art has a resonant beat when the artist has completed it.
