Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The way you've framed the beach through the trees is great! (I've been hanging out in the forums again! LOL!)

I used to know the name of a drink to ask for in a tropical setting like this, but after turning the Big Hawaii 50hhhh, me forgets #^P

Now that's a natural frame! And you've achieved great depth of field. Well done all the way around. You stayed in a grass shack while you were there no doubt...NOT:)

It is a dream come true! I would think this is the view an explorer might see when he makes the "discovery"!

I like all the comments above, you captured this so nicely inside the tree "frames"...it's kind of an archetypal tropical beach shot, the curve of the land works very well inside the opening of the leaves, etc. It's fun to work with old photos isn't it, and to think that people used darkrooms back then...Nice capture, nice warm light, and I like the feel of the little houses in the background... (I'm almost caught up...one or two more nights, and I'll get there! WOnderful stuff to come back to!)
