I found these in my computer last night...maybe cyber-spiders eat bugs in software?
This is part of a big mess of fractal webs. I didn't think the render had turned out anything of interest until I started digging around in the details. The "enamel" coating on all the fillaments just makes me nuts---ok, I'm a texture freak. I'm still trying to render a big image of just the detail, but I can't seem to duplicate it yet. I thought I'd send this and a following small detail image in hopes that other texture lovers might enjoy.

It came out well and suits this shape. The sparkly textures use sharpening for some lights as a special effect, at the cost of enhancing edges, and tend not to survive resampling. They should work well with some DOF though.
