Description

I am back, did anyone miss me? LOL I had a wonderful trip, it was reassuring to see my Dad, the thing that was the hardest was seeing the weight he had lost, his weight is now at 190 which is very low for his height of 6 feet 8 inches the saying is true he was born in Texas and everything is bigger in Texas lol, whenever I needed to find my dad in a crowd I just looked up. but seeing him now so frail broke my heart, but he had a wonderful birthday, his phone never stopped ringing and visitors showed up all day, it was great to see. He is not in the best of health but he has an amazing attitude and outlook, as does my Mom who has been taking care of him. And I have to give her high praise for that, but I think they both find humor in it all and in the support of friends, neighbors and family to pull them through. I took quite a few pictures while I was out there, my gosh I forgot just HOW beautiful California and my home town of Simi Valley could be. After I got back home I found that my computer had basically crashed, and I tried to salvage it, but finally gave into a new laptop, (my first) and a new desk top both Gateways and they are awesome, did I say they were awesome? LOL making sure. So I will make a big attempt to play catch up with you all. And wow I have missed everyone. This was taken at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library which is in the town where I grew up, my sister was rushing me LOL since we had a long list of to do things, so blame any lack of quality on her. And we did get to tour inside the plane as well, but no photos were allowed once you got to the red carpet. Great to be back.

Thank you for your recent comments and visits to my gallery. A few of you commented on the post work on my recent photo below I just added a touch of posterizing in Photoshop. To do that simply go to your FILTER tab then to the ARTISTIC tab then to poster edge and give it a slight adjust, to me to much of it takes away from the photo. If you would like help with that site mail me I would be happy to walk you through it.

How ridiculous that they would not let you take pics inside, yesterday on our TV we had a program that gave a guided tour of GW's airforce one, which I am assuming is now Obama's AF1?...security, pfft!...Oh well that besides you had a great time and that's what counts, and this pic is far from poor quallity, it's a cracker!

At least you got to get this picture. I have been closer than this to one of the current Air Force Ones, but I was not allowed to even take photos of the outside.

Glad you enjoyed your visit though tinged with sadness due to your Dad's failing health, but happy he had so many good wishes for his 78th birthday. My mum is 82 this year and I have noticed many changes over the past two years which is also very sad. This is a superb capture. Take care and stay happy, Sue :)

Good to see you back here and posting, and yes we missed you. So nice to be able to visit your parents and to be able to celebrate your Dad's birthday with him. I was sorry to read he is suffering poor health and pray he will soon be on the mend. How great that although your pc crashed you now have a new set up there, and yes I think you did say it was awesome ;O)x This is a great capture of airforce 1, even though your sister was rushing you. I would love to have a tour around that plane. hugs Jane xx

Stellar shot of Air Force One, sorry about your dad, but 109? Give me a break. Glad you cleared that one up. They probably got confused with his weight of 190. As for me, I'm 81, look 91, and feel 101. If it wasn't for taking photos during my morning jaunts and working with the computer, I would be essentially fossilized. I'm an old coot who still loves watching basketball, baseball and football. Anyway, glad you had a good time back in Simi Valley, and you're back home now safe and sound.

Great to hear that you had a great time on holiday and your dad would have been so pleased to see you. This looks to be a massive plane and great that you got to have a looksee. Your new computer sounds great though we don't have that brand here. Why they call them different names in different countries I don't know.
