Description
Location- Osterly Manor, Osterly park west London.
I'm Still experimeting with monochromatic images, so many different combinations possible.
Shot using D80's in built Black & White with red light filter & a circular polariser. Blue tint added in PS.
Positive & critical comments both welcome.

If you are shooting digitally i would do the black and white bit in postwork - i dont think there is any benefit to the final photo to using an on-lens red filter and shooting in black and white (apart from saving some space on memory cards and time in post). Just how i work i suppose (you can put a red filter on the photo using channel mixer for a black and white convert in photoshop). Anyway - as for the photo, the sky looks amazing, but i'm a little stunted when i look at it because the subject is in the middle of the frame yet the rest of the photo is asymmetric (lines in clouds, uneven treeline etc), maybe putting the bird on the bottom left would give this shot a stronger composition - and in black and whites composition is paramount.

I'd just sneak up closer on that bird so that he dominates that great sky! The BW looks very rich here, lots of depth.

Looks great maybe as Rich suggests or some triangulation into the frame fron the shadows.. Looks from yesterdays shot this place is worth a visit! I assume it's National Trust.
