46 hour render
I love these, not just because I use to drive one for a major house builder but because later as a sign writer I used to put the graphics on new JCB machines - for some reason - 9 times out of ten we had to use "Gill Sans Extra Bold" black text with a white drop shadow. Its funny but in many ways, Sign writing has not changed much since the day the canal barge was king.

Nice rust texture on the lifter- also the ground and surrounding textures look very natural. Cool model, good lighting and shadows as well.

Properly grunged up! I'm jealous as I always wanted to drive something like this, and to be a sign painter. If you like hand lettering, see the latest "50th anniversary" issue of Communication Arts for some good font nostalgia featuring "Strange" magazines and the work of Harry Chester.
Cimaira

Wow, 46 hours? Sounds like a Bryce render. P It came out beautiful though, so I'd say it was worth the wait.

The anti-galvanize has alowed rust to scab and decalcify in just the right places. Can blistering and scaling be behind? Isn't JCB the firm that made a diesel racer at Bonneville go 350 mph? I think I have a video somewhere of this. Now that I am in the South it is mildew and iron sulfide water stains that are the markers as well as cracked plaster and stucco. Except by the sea iron stands up remarkabley well. The video signs now are the wave taking over from the simple drape that eliminates all that brushing up and pasting of poster segments on billboards.

Awesome model but it should be a Lull :) I have to show hubby this one when he gets home.

Looks quite well used and worn, but it's got brand spanking new tires and someone makes an effort to keep the brightwork shiny in addition to the glass. ;)
