Description
These ranch hands just about completed the round up driving the cattle into the holding pens. The cattle will be shipped by tractor trailer to the market from here. Pedregosa Mountains, southeastern Arizona.
I came across this drive by chance, just as I had on different occassions in Nevada and Wyoming. I had spent the Columbus Day Weekend in Southeastern Arizona to reflect on my upcoming deployment to Saudi Arabia. These ranch hands, commonly known as 'cowboys' are hard-working, humble, and god-fearing. They don't talk much, usually don't drink alcohol, and go to bed early and get up early. Normal working hours do not apply to them. By the way, my deployment was cancelled one day before scheduled departure.
This picture was taken in October 1991 and later scanned.
