Description

MY SISTER AND I WENT DOWN TO THE WILDLIFE PRESERVE OUTSIDE OF CAPE KENNEDY TO SEE IF THE HERONS AND EGRETS HAD MOVED THAT FAR NORTH. MOST OF THE DAY ALL WE SAW WERE GATORS. AS WE WERE WORKING OUR WAY BACK OUT OF THE PRESERVE ABOUT MID AFTERNOON WE FINALLY SAW SOME BIRDS. MOSTLY GREAT WHITE EGRETS. AS WE WERE BARELY MOVING ALONG IN THE VAN THIS HERON FLEW IN AND LANDED ABOUT 12 FT FROM US ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A CANAL. HE WAS SO INTENT ON CATCHING FOOD I DON'T THINK HE NOTICED US.

I don't think he noticed you guys either. These birds are really shy out here.. I can never get close enough to take a reasonable shot.. :( Excellent work here !! :)
