Description

Hi there - the next one is a large bird again, the Great Hornbill (Buceros bicornis). This birds are about 95-120cm long and they reaching a weight of 2,15-4kg. Females are smaller and have blue instead of red eyes. So you can see, the portrait shows a male. Mostly they eat fruits but also small mammals, birds, lizards, snakes and insects. Great Hornbills are living in India, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula. Please zoom for more details.
