Description
Captured 3/6/09, around 8 AM, within walking distance of my lachrymose lair.
A zoom will be to your definite benefit.
I don't know the official name of these things. If anyone out there knows, then pass on the info and I'll change the title. See below.* In the meantime, all I do know is that they fall from trees onto the ground, have really neat textures, cast an awesome shadow, and that you never want to get any down the back of your shirt, or blouse, whichever the case may be.
And, kneeling and/or squatting over the sidewalk to take these shots did not do my arthritic knees a bit of good.
Thankx for clicking on, and have a transcendent Thursday.
*PS:
Many thanks to bmac62 and babuci for researching this and finding the name of these things.

This is a fascinating close capture Harry. Looks to me a "morning star" weapon but this is just me. Bill is right, it is gumtree seedpod.

Really excellent captures, Harry! I find them hard to photograph without losing all definition, and not only did you retain all that you got some stellar shadows on the ground too. Great work!

I had no clue the name of these. Watch them knees Harry maybe we need to send Harry some knee pads. Have a great night.

Great shots, Harry! Fabulous clarity and detail! Wouldn't want to walk barefoot along that sidewalk! Well done!

These are not friendly to bare feet...and some nicely detailed shots...

Good Collage Harry. I'm trying to decide which one I prefer... and it's a toss up between 1 and 3... leaning towards the third.

Fantstic details and beautiful light. Excellent photographies.

I second Denise. The ground textures & shadows are wonderful, and the actual seedpods look other worldly in this close focus. More of your fine closeup-triyptychs. Such boldness & presence, and they're a lot of fun too...

Oh.. the bottom shot is my favorite. Excellent shadows, too! Ouch! on any part of you or the canine at ones side. Reminds me of the Minnesota Burdock, but much more photogenic. lol.
