Description

Here's another angle of my tank, this time the barrel and the smoke launchers have their new texturemaps. The bump maps are a little to strong in some places, and I need more spec here and there. But that is something i will take care of when it is more complete. Oh, yeah, please click for full size view, otherwise you wont see all the details in both the model and texture.

That's a really excellent model and texture! The big white "V" has something a little strange going on where it is blended with the darker patch of paint (a little jagged looking) but otherwise it's superb, I really appreciate all the detail around the hatches on the turret!

Thanks for your nice words. piz99: yeah, the white "V" should be a lot sharper, but the "jaggies" is by design, but just as a test so far, since the paint you paint on the tank "chips" easily and get scuffed and show the underlaying "harder" paint. But will make it better and more obvious in the final texture. Penter: Yeah, nice call. It is a Merkava design, but it is even more advanced than that, I will update as soon as I have some more to show later. /Jonas aka Sgtprobe

Hello, and thanks for all nice comments. :) Aha, Piz99, now I know what you mean with the "darker patch of paint" when looking at my render again. That's simply interference since the "darker color" is actually geometry acting as cooling fins. I'm not sure how to make that part work without getting that interference when resizing down my renders resolutions. And since this piece will be animated I guess I will have alot of interference going on there. Ah well, something for me to solve when that day comes. :)
