Description

Mrs Ratbag, Denise, has had a problem getting a decent photo of a heron. and I have to admit that they are not the easiest of birds to photograph, especially when they aren't around. Besided riding my bicycle, I do enjoy walking and today I chose to walk home from work, (it's about 3 to 3.5 miles from work to home). I took my camera, of course, and went another route to home. This took me to the last bridge that crosses the Washougal River before it flows into the Columbia River. In all, I took over 71 pictures today, including 4 pictures of a Blue Heron who seemed to pose for me. So I've got several of him standing there on this jetty of wood and 1 or 2 of him flying away. So this picture is for you Denise! I also got several very nice pictures of two pair of mated geese who like to wander around the area. I'll be posting those later on as well as other water shots and other different shots. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Thank you all for the wonderful comments on 'Sara conducting hidden chorus' Mike

Excellent shot! Nicely caught! they come to steal fish from our dinky little fish pond too! I have a couple of shots of them. I should dig them out and post them. They are very skittish though. One made off with my one and only gorgeous huge fan tail that I had from it was just a little bitty one!

wonderul capture. These birds are in abundance right now in Florida and they don't seem to mind getting their picture taken sometimes. Again, great shot.

It's a gorgeous shot of a very regal bird! And how very nice of him to pose like that just for you! Maybe you can get my dog to sit still for 20 nano-seconds so I can take a few shots of her! LOL!!! Wonderful capture though! Well done!
