Description
Spent the day in Little Rock, Arkansas on a sort of business trip, but found plenty of time to take in the sights. One such stop was at Mount Holly Cemetery.
Mount Holly is a four square block cemetery surrounded by urban sprawl. Established in 1843, it contains the creme de la creme of past Arkansas high society. There are 11 state Governors, 13 state Supreme Court justices, four Confederate Generals, 22 Little Rock Mayors, newspaper editors, military heroes, and various physicians and attorneys.
Of course they share space with common folk as well, and on the other side I suppose the only difference is the size of the tombstone left behind.
Of course what really matters is how much love they shared and left in this world, but such concepts are usually not measured in historical footnotes.
Thanks for stopping by,
