I don't see any discernable shadows. Is this realism or cartoon work? There are light flares between each of her finger joints which I dont quite understand. Are you rendering with shadows turned off? Hope this is not too harsh, but you did indicate that "Both critical and non-critical comments are welcomed". Hence the critical comments I am presenting, personally I enjoy the critical comments on my work because it helps me with peer review and improving as an artist.
