Wowzers! I'd say it's some kind of viral thing .. those little orbital viruses with the sharp needlelike protusions have irritated maybe an immune response, causing those sharp crystals to form, maybe calcium oxalate crystals .. ouch! (okay, those don't form in response to viral attacks, but it sounds good doesn't it??LOL) Awesome work on this !
