This is the 3rd image in a series about the protective hand of Mother Nature, links to the other two are below. I didn't plan this series, it just happened. This image in particular was started and finished yesterday, in a few hours, in a spur of the moment (I interrupted others I was working on to make this one).
In this image I was not aiming at realism. My primary concern was to achieve a certain mood, a certain atmosphere. I hope you enjoy watching.

Wonderful landscape - very rich. The water and reflection looks very realistic. I question if the pov is to high - just something to consider - because of the perspective the fern leafs give at the top left and right - since most fern type plants are lower to the ground and across the water you see willow trees not ferns.

It's so funny you said that you said you weren't aiming at realism; because one of my first thoughts was how much this reminds me of some scenes I collected from one of my favorite photographers! :D Again, you incredibly captured the sweet peacefulness that calls to me. The play of the lighting and shadows are Heavenly; the stuff of dreams... (You know the kind of dream that lingers for the few seconds after you wake up, and though your eyes are completely open you can still see it? That's how this strikes me). My feeling is inadequately expressed; but let me tell you, I can't stop staring at this. :) I hear the water's gentle motion and soft birdsong in the air. I wish you could loan me your talent for a day!!
