Description

Finally they said game on for the launch of the space shuttle Discovery: Soooo with my camera & tripod I climbed up onto my roof. The shots aren't the greatest it was hard to stay in focus. But they are better than last year and hopefully next launch I'll do even better... If you look in upper right corner you'll see that the capsule had already separated. Yep now there is another hunk of junk floating around space. the following is the official NASA statement... Discovery in Orbit Sun, 15 Mar 2009 08:19:13 PM EDT Space shuttle Discovery launched on-time at 7:43 p.m. EDT and NASA flight managers confirmed main engine cutoff. The shuttle has reached orbit, flying at 17,500 miles per hour. Oh yeah...I think I should add that I live 150 miles away from the launch pad.
