Description

Somewhere in an abandoned warehouse, in some dark, inner city, something lies forgotten, waiting. It all started because I made this weird organic texture. Well, having made it, I had to use it, and I decided to use it to displace a mesh. I tested it on a sphere, liked it, and then made it into an egg. Once that was made, and to the point that my ex wife said it was disgusting (always a good sign), I decided to put some ivy on it. Well, that looked cool, so I decided to make an environment. I've always liked abandoned warehouses, and always been severely disappointed that none of the ALIEN novels, which concerned the Aliens on Earth, were ever made into films, so that's where it went. That meant more ivy. First time I've ever really used the ivy. I had to change the texture to something more high rez I made myself, but I liked it so much I'll be using it in my next planned scene as well. Texturing is my strong point, so I generally make all textures in a scene myself. It took me forever to adjust the lighting to something that satisfied me. Once I did, something was still missing. So after some thought I added the spider and the grasshopper to give it some life. And I'd already put the spiderweb in, so it was a natural. The only thing that disappointed me was that Vray fur doesn't seem to resize at all, so I couldn't make the spider fuzzy. I'd have liked him to be fuzzy. Also the first time I've used the camera correction modifier. I only recently learned about it or I'd have been using it before. Learn something new every day. Some days what you learn is actually useful.

Excellent work. Looks like the perfect place for an alien egg to incubate until its time to hatch.
