Description

For anyone who has never been in a general aviation plane, this is the view when appx. 2 miles out from touchdown on the runway ahead. I had to guess a little at the viewpoint by holding the camera above & slightly behind me while flying the plane with the L hand (which is normal btw) Enjoy! PS: Perspective creates the illusion of a very short runway. Its actually almost a mile long - more than three times the distance I need...

Extraordinary shot! Not a view most of us would see every day, thats for sure! I love it! I must say you look higher than you should be because it doesn't look two miles away!!!

BTW: Its a Beechcraft Sundowner 4 seater/ 180hp/ fixed tricycle gear/ low wing/ very comfy/ handles well/ does require perfect flare with a touch of stall horn as mains touchdown...

Excellent...I'm an old general aviation guy myself. This is a welcome sight. You've got a lot more navaids than when I last flew in 1969. Holy cow, counting on my finger tips, that's 40 years ago already. I used to fly a Beach Musketeer among an assortment of Pipers and Cessnas. Oh, and a Cessna 150 cost $7.50 an hour wet!

You're lined up just right for a perfect landing and a great photo. What Chicago suburban airport? Looks familiar.
