Well presented, good composition. You can improve the shadows by either using raytraced shadows, or by increasing the shadow map size and zooming in the shadow cam of the main light. The yellowish light makes me think of a sodium lamp. If that was your intention, the lighting might be improved by replacing the current lighting with a point light above the wooden pole - where the lamp would be - and give it a shadow blur radius of a few pixels, maybe 2 or 3. Set the distance end of the point light to around 25 feet, and the lighting will be more dramatic. A very low level IBL light (without an image attached) might be useful too.
