Description

At the nature reserve today the toads where all over the place on the move to the breeding ponds. I have some shots of that spring highlight for later. This little guy seemed too small to be interested as he walked across my path. I had my little compact so had to lay on my belly to view him eye to eye. The light was low on the woodland path, so I had to open up the aperture to get enough light to take a shot without the flash going off. I focused on his nearest eye and that is about the range of the DOF in that light! I got just 1 shot before he moved on through the undergrowth, so was pleased I had got it focused correctly. I am having to adjust to the ways of this little camera, after 30 years of SLR's. I must admit it is a cracking little tool that has never dissapointed me at all upto now!

What a horny-looking little(?) devil... especially scary, when zoomed-in ! this is a perfect macro IMO, it pays to have lay down occasionally (on the job), Well done BB
