Description

On the day I took the photo of the heron, I took a total of 71 pictures. What you are looking at here is a man-made creation. Years before, the people would mine the rocks from the river for crushing or ladscaping. This was well before understanding how changes in the riverbed affects fish and other wild life along the river. After almost half a century of 'mining for the rock' the engineers along with the various groups who wanted the riverbed returned to its premined state got together and started puting rock back into the river to form natural fish ladders and pools. It seems to work and it is a fun area to walk around, especially if you have a camera with you as you don't know what you'll find when you go up around the bend. I know that I stated that my photos will be used in my renders, and they will be. However, there will be some photos that will be posted 'as is' and then again as part of a render. So later on, you'll probably see this photo again only as part of a render. Just fair warning to all. For those of you who don't recognise the title, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band did a song called Rippling waters and here are the lyrics: Ripplinā€™ Waters I got rippling waters to wake me To the morning, my woman and love Our tall pine trees are pointing us easily to heaven above Blue spruce flaming on the grate in the evening Takes the chill away fine Cut the telephone line and the story's the same There's an old red chair by our window That we found at a sale down the lane Some old women said they needed more room for the winter People like to pull out the stuffing when they sit down So it passes the time Cut the telephone line and the story's the same Blow like a bubble on a windy day Start to flutter when i hear you say That you feel to good to go away And you make me feel fine You've made my world a warmer place By the sparkle of your diamond face On a frayed spot, put a little lace And you make me feel fine Warm as the mountain sunshine On the edge of the snowline In a meadow of columbine Oh, little Jennifer, Iā€™d give a penny for What you've got on your mind It seems like most of the time you're lying here dreaming. Maybe in your vision you've seen how our mission is slightly less than divine Cut the telephone line and the story's the same Yep, now rippling waters flow through pipes In the walls and they're keeping me warm And the closest Iā€™ve been to my family for days is our music You can silently stare in the morning sky It's like hearing her calling my name Cut the telephone line and the story might change If you get a chance, listen to the song! it has some great mandolin playing in it! Thanks for all the comments and faves! Mike

Liar, liar, pants on fire - lol... Tell me Mike, why would you make a statement like - I'll never post plain pictures again, if you don't like it, I suggest you delete me - lol... YOU'VE GOT TO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY, MIKE MY BOY, THE PUBLIC IS READING YOU - BUT, THE PUBLIC HERE IS THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD - LOL... next time, just tell people to look for the CG in the water, if they can't find it, tell them they must be taking a dive - lol Nice upload, writings and lyrics.... HOWEVER, I still have to say it before I go... Liar, Liar, pants on fire - lol.... I've been away too long, I hope you remember that I'm the crazy commenter - LOL

What a great band they were! Love the picture, wish I lived in one of those houses that seem to have the river in their backyards! You gotta watch out for river trolls though. They are very jealous of their waters

Well we went from country rock bank to country rock band all in the same picture and we didn't even have to leave home or turn the radio on. Pretty darn good to me!

Absolutely beautiful shot, Mike! Love the information you've given and it's wonderful that people are finally conciencious enough (now - hindsight, you know, always 20/20) to try and put back right what they screwed up. It looks like a lovely place. Very peaceful, tranquil and calm. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish there was a place around here like that to get away from it all and just vege out for a while....sketch, do some water colour, daydream.....eh, maybe I'll just have to borrow this as a wallpaper for my desktop to get away. ;-)
