Description

Thanks so much to all who viewed and commented on my first images.....Here is another straight Bryce render....only levels and contrast set in photoshop....Still very much a work in progress its just a basic setting for an unfolding story......I think....lol here goes... ELYSIAN UNDERGROUND: THE INITIATION Jeddarius had never been to the Elysian Underground before. As part of his initiation rites he would have to survive a series of tests. Today's test involved outsmarting the giant mechanical monster that he'd only just learned of on the epic journey it took to get to this destination. Here he was miles underneath the substrata of the only planet he had ever known. About to take the most serious challenge he had ever faced. His confidence waned like the moon he might never see again. As he neared the inner chamber, an alien, pseduo-animal, mechanical sound could be heard. In some distant part of the enormously vast chambers of the Undergound IT was waiting for him. IT seemed to sound like a mix of industrial cacophony and some unknown wounded beast ....and enraged. Jeddarius had been told by his mentor that the Underground was in fact infinite. And unlike most mazes that were stationery the monster that lived here delighted in rearranging the entire structure of the labyrinth on the fly. Jeddarius was warned to expect the unexpected. He entered the central chamber just as the IT reached for one of the supporting walls. He couldn't see any of the beast itself...only a lone mechanical claw grabbing hold of the supporting rock and shearing it from the enclosure faster than he thought anything could move. "What was I thinking, " he muttered to himself as all the walls were repositioned by the beast nearly instantaneously. Moved like a child's dominos in an advanced mechanized sorter. Repositioned in a completely different configuration. At least IT wasn't attacking him...yet. He knew the monster would grow tired of toying with him and would come for him directly once it did. His only hope was to reach the end of this section of maze before the demon got him. And seeing the speed at which this thing moved he didn't actually believe he had a chance. The horrible smell of the horror went unnoticed as he struggled to see the rest of it. What crazy notion drove him to see what this thing truly looked like? He just couldn't stop himself. Just then a small serpent glided across the waters of the chamber towards his direction. "O great! SNAKES!!!" "I hate snakes!!!" he cried as it sped its way towards him. Just as fast as it had appeared it was gone...A wave of relief passed over him. His training had not been in vein. The universe was listening....His mentor said that this should be an easy trial for him. He was about to agree with his mentor until a strange machine rose from out of the murky depths of the chamber. Before he could blink he was completely enclosed in the clutches of a giant claw. It was as big as a cage for elephants. And it had him trapped.....

Excellent render! Especially like the object placements for enhanced DOF... While the Fog & Water planes are killer details - the story byline's very well done. Kudos. :D ~Stephen~

excellent render !! lovely !! once dreamed of a village of Amazons and wrote a book with 300 pages of Portuguese and my teacher loved me and not returned the original but melembro very well for a scene like this where the Amazon Princess faces its worst enemy: the nightmare of leaving the town and out to the world where humans lived! incredible as you reflect on your feelings associated with certain images in all!
