Description
Captured 3/6/09, around 7:45 AM, within walking distance of my demure dwelling.
Not willing to embarrass myself again on Renderosity in the category of floral identification, I asked the garden homeowner what species this was; he said he didn't know, that he had purchased the plant at Home Depot, and that was the full extent of his knowledge. So, not to be denied, I went to Home Depot, searched all over the flower section, which, incidentally, was uncomfortably cold, and found only one pot containing this bloom. The sticker said Osteospermum, so I checked it out on the Internet, and discovered the following: several sites show it, with one having it listed as the Flower Power White South African Daisy, scientific name osteospermum (osteo which means bone; spermum which means seed).
Hence, one of the few times on RR that I don't have to title a plant as a Mystery Flower.
Thankx for looking in, and have a felicitous Friday.
