Description

WIP - the terrain needs some texture improvements before I add a few small buildings and a couple of poser figures...ive drawn a little man (sorry it was quick!) to give an idea of scale....WHAT DO YOU THINK SO FAR????????

I've always admired the sense of scale in others' work and haven't always been succesful in achieveing a similar effect so I went of and studied traditional artists. My next few images will be based around scale. I hope I'm getting there.....

Yes, that always impressed me as well: Massive things rising out of the haze, giving a great sense of scale. Is the background image done in Bryce too?

The background really looks imposing! Great composition. What if you placed the figures right in the foreground, say the lower right corner, necks craning to take in the imposing height of the building? Love the fissure which you have created. Great job!

fantastic. The scale on this is awesome..and even creepy. The title says it all. Your terrain looks good too..even with the textures you have on it now. Nice work.

pixeltek - yes the background building is made of about 5 up-turned terrains, designed in Photoshop and then scaled up in bryce....they're VERY big and VERY far away in the scene - so as to put them behind the haze.
