Description

While most users of Poser 6 or later are familiar with Sanctum Arts' SAK-MP mass production robotic kitty, the full product is rather less well known. This provides all that you need to produce numerous variations on the kitty, with various headgear, textures, and add-ons. Oh, and flying surfboards, billboards, and everything that you need if you want to render robotic cats on, uh, surfboards. The original idea here was to do a scene featuring several SAK-EX cats, and flying surfboards, It seemed to be a natural for an action scene - I'd rendered a single SAK-EX with 3D motion blur enabled and the result was excellent, if rather slow to render. I kept the scene down to just four kittys, otherwise it looked too crowded, along with one of the "gateways" provided that said cats are meant to fly through. For now, I didn't set things up for 3D motion blur, since this was just a test render. Said test render, as posted here, took about 9hr of CPU time to render with relatively modest quality settings. Given how long it took to render just one cat with 3D motion blur, I've decided not to do a full render with blur, I don't want to leave my computer alone for a week. Anyway, here's the test render. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, even if there's no blur - it's colorful, cute and there's still at least some impression of action, even without the blur. I did a little postwork on this one - originally rendered against black, I added the purple "vortex" effect in the background just to center the image a little more and make it a little more interesting. Lighting was a recolored permutation on the default lighting. I think it was adequate despite its basic nature. Stuff used that I can't list in the credits: SAK-EX by Sanctum Arts
