Description

One of the advantages, as it were, of living along the Columbia River and the Pacific Northwest in general, is that we have the rail system. Near where I work runs a fairly straight line of tracks and on one sunny day, after work, I stopped and took this shot looking east towards the Cascade Mountains. I love travelling by rail and if given the choice, that's exactly how I want to travel to anywhere in the US. A beautiful shot, Mike. Lovely perspective and the lighting is just spectacular on the rails. I've traveled by train once...One of the engine's blew out so we were stuck on a hillside for over an hour while another engine was sent to haul us! LOL Yea, that was fun (not!), but it WAS a most enjoyable trip over all. And nothing luls you to relax like the rocking of the carrage.

Fantastic shot. I love travel by rail too, unfortunately the system we have here in the US is very poor, at least the lines going through Arizona. I would take the train anytime over air travel.
