This picture was taken in the Fucino plane, it shows in foregrond ancient buildings belonging to Trasacco town and, in the background, the space-communication complex called "telespazio".

Yes, I expect you see even more contrast in Italy with its thousands of years of history--a continuum of the ages, so to speak--than we do here in America with our much shorter existance. (I do know that the modern nation of Italy is not all that old. Smile.) I was much more aware of such contrasts 50 years ago when I lived in Korea and Japan for several years. Really made me feel like a Johnnie-come-lately.
