Description

This image started with a new ship design, created completely in Bryce 6.1 and rendered in preset metal textures and a custom bump map.The station is created from terrains created in the terrain editor, all of which were duplicated, flipped and grouped together. This allowed for each to be scaled and textured independently. The station texture combines a photo from cgtextures and a preset metal grid,as well as a customized photo of lit windows(also from cgtextures). The lights on the upper half of the station body are a seperate duplicate terrain in a customized citylights texture that I increased slightly in scale. One radial light below and three spots above add extra light to the station.Sky and atmo are custom, and two more of my ship models, duplicated and scattered through the scene, complete the sky traffic.Rendered in Superfine, with minor post in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing and any comments!

Nice little models in front! Thanks for the explanation of the big station construction. Great texture and work on the lower surface. The top... the lights there look more look blotches on top of the landscape. I don't know if giving the surface a matching bump would help, or maybe just a different distribution -- they just don't seem to match with the underlying texture. But that's just my opinion, and I'm barely awake.

Man, what you've done here just blows me away. I do have to agree with geirla's comment up above about the textures on top. Very different looking space station.

Wow, ultra-scifi, Neil. Scene has a real sense of perspective and distance.

Super modeling Neil. Another of you trademark "grand scale" renders. Excellent!

Your terrain work is marvellous Neil and lends itself very well to your sci-fi genre. I love the textures on here and the way lights shine out. Tony.
