Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wonderful POV employed in this super macro shot of the hyacinth, replete with a beautiful bundle of purple-blue pods enveloping its stem, Maz! I don't know, everytime I see pods of any sort it reminds me of the movie(s) Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Wonderful capture. Don't forget to show us in bloom. Looks like they will be an outstanding color. Dana P

My camera is like that...things I stumble on then can't find it again. The manual seems to be written for simpltons or brainiacs but not for the average user like me. :-) Great shot.

Wow! That grape hyacinth is amazing against the green ball. I know for a fact that your camera is psycho! LOL! :D

LOL Harry: Invasion of the Body Snatchers! (I think you'd have to be pret-ty small to fit in one of those...) And tara knows for a fact that your camera's psycho? My curiosity's peaked! Here's the solution: You should post a photo of the camera: That way if you 'lose' the button, we can help you find it. (Ok this is gonna sound stupid, and maybe I'm just an ignorant 2D bumpkin, but how do you lose a button? Doesn't it, like, stay on the camera??? Does it retire to a separate room, go bar-hopping, hang out with other buttons? like, wide-lens buttons? Someone help me...) ('yeah officer? I lost a button...no, a button...that's right...') Well it's a great shot, bursting into the frame, I love how it cascades into focus; and that gazing ball is perfect behind it—I'd have never guessed: I thought it was an out of focus bush or something. (And I had to look up "gazing ball" [there are puns in there, oh boy] because I didn't know what it was. So that's what those things are in your garden.) I luv this shot, a real joy.
