EQUUS
STRAIGHT FROM HOGWART’S Harry Potter … a side bar, Daniel Radcliffe’s dazzling debut in Broadway’s equestrian epic … EQUUS! The source of this mysterious masterpiece is of course a horse … originally a satanic, sable-colored symbol. So why have we selected a snowy steed to star in this doarte MADHOUSE scene? .
Prior to its production on Broadway in New York, the director of Equus brought the family’s teens, tots and toddlers to our Oddatoria’s PATTING PADDOCK and there they were … six stomping ivory stallions: AN IDEA WAS BORN. Why decorate a dark drama with the traditional trite trappings of evil … a BLACK HORSE! How much more titillating to tease the senses with the pretty pretense of purity. In that monumental moment the director embraced the doarte doctrine of delicious deception and decided to make WHITE the star of the show.
