What's great with your images, beyond their great quality, is that we can spend long min. to discover the dtetails, to think, to dream...that's why I like them so much.

I was away, and catching up now is taking real time...but I saw this image when you posted it (from an ancient internet connection—my emails traveled via courier) (and he spoke Latin!), and I couldn't wait to sit with it. You have at least one Roman coin (Caesar is written, and those are very Roman busts), what appear to be petroglyphs in the shape of coins—lots of fine visual 'rhyming' in this piece, coins & 'sand dollars', manuscripts & illuminated manuscripts, etc—a number of animal images in or against old manuscripts including a few with 3D-looking animal legs, two Native American symbols which look Pacific (maybe they're symbols of ill-behavior), what appears to be either an ancient or medieval mosaic (in the background of your 'sand dollar' forms), and some other things incl a fish at bottom, some medieval Germanic book (in mirror-image with itself) and of course that strange convoluted face who appears to be watching over this as if in sinister greed & glee; and that strange hollowed-out bird in the topmost sand-dollar...what a collection of items! Yet they all make a strange & intimate music: Your palette is harmonized, the images seem to be variations on each other, and the title—enigmatic, as many of yours are—casts a filter over the piece, telling us that these symbols are tainted by something, and they take on an air of slight-untrustworthiness. And yet they're engaging & beautiful. It's as if your mind is a great museum "without walls" which absorbs and stores and reverently knows all the precious artifacts it contains; and you go into the galleries & caringly choose which images you'll display for each show. A number of your works are pure abstracts of course, where you are the painter; but some—like this—are curatorially masterful, they're mini art-shows, and this is one of them. I'm not sure what all of it 'means', but your instincts ask us to journey as much as analyze, and the journey is truly powerful. Another wonderful work from you, and another fav.
