Description
I have often been asked which of the animals on my gallery are mine, well here I am with them all. My son took the pic of me with the dogs, about just over 3 years ago, when I was 59 and nearing 60, and they were around 18months. Carina is on my left and was 5 yesterday, and her half sister Madelena will be 5 the end of July.
The reason I made this picture was because my mother who as many of you know got Dementia, said how much she would love a picture of all our pets together. This is the picture I put into the book I made her, and with it I wrote a letter telling her of my love for her, but also the names of the pets and to also remind her of me as I know in time she will sadly, more than likely not know me.
The names of the cats are Freddie on your left aged a year in May, Amy who will be 2 in May, and my beloved Mistapus who will be 3 next week.
I am heartbroken that Mistapus has been diagnosed by ultrasound as having Hypertrophic Cariomyopathy of his heart, and has not been given a very good prognosis - he could live for a few short years, but yet again he could be taken from me in just a few short months - I cannot tell you how much this saddens me ...
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on the card I made Mum for mothering Sunday, it really meant so much to me that you also enjoyed it, and many thanks to those of you who favourited it too. I treasured the moment she opened her card and also the joy she got from the book I made her of my compositions, stories and poems. I anticipated by the next day she would have forgotten, but I am so glad I came up with the idea, as each day it is fresh to her and I can read her the stories and show her the images time and time again for her pleasure...

It's so nice to see the whole family together, and you put this together so beautifully, with a beautiful violet background & beautiful use of the frames. And your cats all look so attentive & alive even while they're at rest; and the two dogs are just quietly in your grasp. You use frames so subtly, you let your animals fall over them subtly, and you used the flowers (at bottom) as perfect little rests & cushions for your cats. And your montage is seamless. I'm so happy your mother was moved by your gift, and I do understand what it is to know that she may forget it the next day; but when someone reaches that state (my step-mother did), the moment is the eternity, and when it dawns, it is divine. Beautiful work & a beautiful picture of you smiling over the whole brood. Much light to you and your loving animals, and I wish much blessing to your mom; it's a beautiful shot for all of us. I love seeing and reading about people's pets. This is a lovely portrait. I'm sure it gives your mom much pleasure. I'm sorry to about Mistapus' medical condition. Animals become such an important part of our lives, and it's very hard when they are endangered or lost. But the enrichment they give us is worth the pain.
