Description

This view is from 'Curva 28' along highway 60 back toward Ruta Panamerican in Chile. Turning off from Ruta Panamericana near San Felipe and heading East the elevation is about 1,500-ft. There are more than 30 switchbacks (curvas) to climb to an elevation of about 12,000-ft. before the road enters a tunnel and emerges on the Argentine side of the Andes. Route 60 is the main highway between Mendoza, Argentina and Santiago, Chile and is heavily traveled by modern, European-built 18 wheelers. 'Curva 28' is near Portillo, Chile near the border with Argentina. The elevation at this point is 10,116-ft. and the location is S 32d 50m 25.9s, W 70d 05m 28.7s. amazing road but nothing for me ol-fart because i have paranoia in cars i never drove in my life,so i had for transportation always a lady with me with a driver license-lol. in fact the first question asked was not how is your name but how about driving hihi.
