Description
The Flower People fell to their planet in the form of a giant ball of light. The world they fell to was in it's infancy, a fresh new world, still glowing hot from it's fiery birth. Unlike us, they had the ability to assume different forms of matter.. But there was a problem... They couldn't change their forms spontaneously. It would take them millions of years to make the transformation...from light.....to organic living creatures...And many never wanted to change at all...they stayed beings of light because they believed that it was just too hard to be solid...Always bumping in to things...Not being able to fly. The absolute freedom to move...through ....over.... and around the universe... all the freedoms of being light would be lost. Many of the Qunterrians feared that it would not be wise to use this new (to them) technology. It made them feel sad to know that there was a possibility that they would be stuck somewhere in the chain of evolution...unable to get back to their original state....These flower people also possessed the mixed blessings and powerful pitfalls of pride...Known throughout the universe for their kindness... not only to those of their ilk but others...It was said that the purest and strongest of the Flower People knew no pain...no suffering..no death..no disease...No jealousy...No hate...And even if they did what could they do??? After all they were made of the brightest and purest light. For none among them had a concept of a time before them...no ancestors...no ancient memories of a time before time. Some had spoken of a single vast fiery sphere of a very special magic. It was said to travel through this and many other strange and vast universes... searching out new worlds it found suitable to seed and transform. It's only mission to grow a fully living organism out of nothing but some raw materials. They made everything grow...heal...and when necessary...die... Special parent machines started the process of turning light into an organic form of life. The idea was to seed the world with all the beings who chose to become part of this experimental technology...To see how they themselves would behave when subjected to a much harsher environment then they were used to..
The architects of this grand design would bring everything they would need to the new world in an unbelievably large series of explosions...They had to be patient beyond understanding....It took unimaginably long times for the materials they needed to reach them.....not everything in this physical universe could travel as fast as these pioneers...but being light had its advantages. It appeared as if they didn't need to eat or require sustenance of any kind...It was thought that they didn't require sleep...In fact they could wait longer than any other intelligent life-forms in their particular universes. In a sense they were at the top of the food chain...except they didn't eat. As the materials kept coming, the parent machines began the slow and painful process of growing their world...Over time they would have another problem....It was possible that they could not access the knowledge required to leave this home world when the time inevitably came... The materials they had brought with them could not last forever...They would need to evolve again...back to light....and then start the process all over again...But sadly, on many worlds, in a tragic twist, the organic flower people differed from the inorganic ones...Their painful evolution had scarred their essence..Another reason many chose not to become solid. And now it had pitted them in a fight- to- the- finish epic struggle...The process took so long...and many times the Architects had to start almost completely over because the materials came at the wrong times...After all, what technology is perfect? And this is how the good ones who wish to evolve still measure themselves....How far am I from the light? And they would ask their God. May we always walk in the light of the world...... Peace

Very well done! Especially love the flowers. Excellent layering work here Rob. R'osity only ranks up to 5, this's a 10+++ IMHO! The Flower People: Expressing a noble Spiritual longing that's Universal, no matter which galaxy a physical being hails from - Bravo on incorporating a great philosophical thought into a Sci Fi byline, with an excellent design that, taken together, makes sense & provokes serious thought on multi levels. Whew! I haven't even had my morning Java yet LOL. Be sending you a site mail later. Semper Fi ~Stephen~

I love the essence of your story and the allegory style! There are so many different levels of meaning in your words and in this artwork! The light and colors. The play on vibrations and interpretation. A most satisfying explanation as well for the meaning and origins of life! I find your story most soothing and comforting somehow. It fills part of the vast void of my understanding of our cosmology. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and artistic genius! 1,000,000,000,000+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
