Description

Lt Jek Marisun didn't like this mission. Picking up a group of Stormtroopers and transporting them with only his drive chief along for the ride. "This stinks of trouble. I hate covert jobs Mizzy." "Well I tell you what," chief Zyn Mizzy said over the intercom. "If you can find a way to turn down Moff Panaka, or any other Moff for that matter, and stay alive Lt, you let me know." Jek smiled. He loved Zyn's dry sense of humor. It was one of the few things that made his duty bearable. Once again he found himself wishing he'd done like his brother and joined the Rebels. But of course that was why he was stuck on an Imperial freighter. The Empire were firm believers in punishing you for the crimes of family. "Well, at least I didn't wind up on a prison planet." "What the hell are you talking about?" Zyn said behind him. Jek jumped in his seat. Damn! He hadn't heard Zyn enter the control cabin. "Nothing. Just talking to myself." Jek swore to himself. You can't let people know things like that. Not in the Empire. "If it's about your brother, I already know. You talk in your sleep. When I heard the name Mek, I'll admit, I was jealous. So I did a little checking up on you and found out about your brother. I also know that you are leaning towards the Rebellion yourself." Jek tensed up, waiting for the next words from Zyn. Would he agree with him, or would there be trouble? "Oh calm down boy." Zyn put an arm around his shoulder. "I'm leaning the same way. Along with my other leanings. Our leanings." The pilot loosened his grip on the controls. Zyn's touch always did that to him. Fraternization between low ranking officers and the lower ranks was frowned upon. That was grounds for a court martial. But when you throw in their particular kind of closeness, they'd be lucky to end up in prison. "Which is why I'm up here. That little slime Omall knows about us." "What?" Panic set in quickly. "How the hell did he find out?" "It was Beeker. He let it slip the other day." "Beeker's a good kid, but he's too trusting." "I know I am sir." Jek Marisun spun his seat around. Standing next to Zyn was Mo Beeker and the other four members of the crew. "What's going on here? Why are you here? This is supposed to be a classified mission." "Well, after we found out that Omall sqealed, we took action to guarentee that he never do that again." Jek Cocked an eyebrow. "And just what action did you take?" Zyn smirked. "Well, let's just say that he'll never do that to any one else." The older man said, sitting in the copilots seat. "Of course you know that this means that We'll have to seek out the Rebels." "It does, Zyn, it does. Now, all we have to do is find them." "Leave that up to me sir." Beeker starts feeding information from his data pad into the navacomputer. "My, your're prepared aren't you? How long have you been a Rebel?" Jek asked. "Ever since the Empire killed every living thing on my home world. But I have an additional reason to want out of the Empire." Beeker looked sheepishly behind him. I'm afraid that I got good 2nd lt Halverson a little pregnant." Jek Marisun laughed. "Well I tell you what. I'm a Corellian as you all know. And we Corellians put a high value on family," he said as he turned the ship around. "So we're going to see that the two of you get a chance to have that family." "To your stations kiddies," the chief said. "I'm going to send Omall on ahead to finish this mission." Kinna Banka was just beginning to press the fire button that would have fired two concussion missiles into the freighter when a funny thing happened. The rear ventral cargo door opened and she saw a space suited figure pushing a naked body out into space. She could even see the shocked look on the humans face when he saw her. But the Force though, told her to stand down. And of course, she always obeys the Force.

I noticed that the background is Ryan Bliss' "Campfire 2000" from the Digital Blasphemy site. I thought the planet looked familiar.
