It looks like a scene in a horror video, the danger in terms of a monster, that could be everywhere in the ocean. The ship so tiny and the arms of the monster so huge, this gives me a bad feeling. You achieved the painterly look not only with Vue, I suppose, and the squid is modelled probably in XenoDream: a clever combination of tools and very effective.
