Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I'm originally from New York. Sing Sing is the big state prison up the Hudson River. "The Chair" had a different connotation there. LOL. I like your vision a lot better. Minimal here is the word. Nicely done.

Perhaps they come often to sit in it! It would be interesting to know who.

Thanks! Don't mind if I do! Unless, of course, I get rust on the back of my shirt. Superb POV, clarity, textures, and light and shadow depicted in this cool capture, Maz! And, you're closing in on the rarified air of your thousandth posting, Maz!

I wonder if it washed up from the river? Curious the ponderings a lone chair will cause... have you sat in it yourself?

I'm on break at a studio...so here I come. It's amazing this is the same chair, same place, because the angle here makes it look like it's a completely different locale & chair. Also it's more sunbleached. A fascinating chair, and you captured it in 2 very different equally fascinating povs. Nice sun-bleached shot against a rich earth background. (I love the color of that earth!)
