Description

Vue 6(esprit) > Poser 6 > CS2 Thanks everyone for your comments thus far as this is my 4th image post at Rendo, it's very inspiring. I think generally that I'm learning Poser Backward. I Don't know how to deal with Victoria 4's morphs++ yet that well, but randomly here's P6 Jessi re-modeled, re-boned, and UV'd as a Medusa by me :) (the asps are just shoved in and parented to the head (otherwise too much 'bones' work). I would put her in the freestuff section but since it's part of Poser 6 Jessi (and not just morph changes) I'm not sure that's allowed, so just the render I guess. Thanx for Viewing: The three Gorgon sisters Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale were children of the ancient marine deities Phorcys and his sister Ceto, or sometimes, Typhon and Echidna, in each case chthonic monsters from an archaic world. Their genealogy is shared with other sisters, the Graeae, as in Aeschylus's Prometheus Bound, who places both trinities of sisters far off "on Kisthene's dreadful plain". Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," priestess in Athena's temple, but when she made love to the "Lord of the Sea" Poseidon in Athena's temple, the enraged goddess transformed her beautiful hair to serpents and she made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn a man to stone. Yeah Killebrew, I totally netflix'd 'Clash of the Titans' and referenced it for this render. It was the inspiration for sure :) there's some great scenes when she's down in her underground hall.

Very well done, Medussa is an excellent morph and her eyes are well-crafted. Mist work is finely achieved. To bad you weren't able to show the hero looking into his shield, for that was how he was able to kill her off... but perhaps this is not that scene. The work itself is very impressive.

Great scene trigue! I think the composition might be improved a little by giving the characters a little less headroom. Of course, then you might not get as much of the cool background in the scene. All in all very well done.

I agree about the headroom comment CaptainNeatoman, that's what I get for making the scene before placing the characters LOL! I was just having so much fun placing DM's lost Land buildings (like a kid with an erector set).

Great image. The Gorgons are three of my favorite mythical characters, especially since Medusa and her sisters looked so strange (they also had tusks!) I like this image quite a lot and it reminds me of the old movie Clash of the Titans which was one of the last movies to ever feature the special effects work of Ray Harryhausen...his version of Medusa also sported the serpentine body. As for this piece of work alone, I like it quite a lot. Mythology is one of my favorite subjects and well...Greek myths have some of the most intriguing critters in them...the Gorgons, and also the Girae (three women charged with looking after the Gorgons, which would have been a lot easier if they didn't have one eye and one tooth to share between them) This is quite nice work.
