Hi, my name is Rich. I was born in 1953 and have lived in San Francisco, CA for 60 years.
For the past few years, I've been busy in another area of my life. I know that I haden't posted during that time and I thank you for all of your comments on my past work. Thank you also for your comments on my most recent posts, as they are very much appreciated.
The versions of Vue that I use are Vue 6 Easel and Vue 7 Fantasy. Neither have any additional Modules. I can only populate one grass object and two tree objects (the Cinnamon tree and the Larch tree which came free with the "Lush Western Mountain Trees" package from C3D), the rest is all done by placing the objects one at a time on the canvas. I manage to make some of my own ground covers (some with flowers) and modify the tree foliage and bark, as well as retexturing or painting any buildings I may use in my scenes. It's quite a challenge having to work with very few options, but it still produces a finished product, one that I can live with and accept, knowing that I've done my best with what I have to work with.
My money goes toward the purchase of any musical instruments and equipment, as opposed to spending it on high-end versions of Vue. But with what versions of Vue I do have, it gets me by and at the same time, I have fun and it does reduce a certain level of stress in my life.—Rich
The gifts that I've been given—Somehow help to keep me sane,
At times when I may struggle—In the depths of all my pain.
You wouldn't know by looking—But it's there in its own way,
And though you might not notice—I still struggle every day.

You mean this isn't real? Wow, you sure did a great job on this. Well done. Aloha

a good place to sit and dream...a good idea is to do postwork by adding waves (distorted it at an angle) using wave photoshop brushes. I know Vue is nearly impossible to do......

Looks pretty in parts, but the water - c'mon, have you ever been at a beach? waves go parallel to the shore not perpendicular! As for the animated version - the waves should come on to the shore and recede, not just go up and down in one spot!

Thank you for your input. I am currently using Vue 6 Easel and find it quite limiting. My intent was not to make the water look wavy but calm. However, I did mix the materials along with the "Sea Foam" and could not get it to rotate so that the lines were parallel to the shore. This got a bit frustrating for me. Other scenes I've created in Vue 5 Esprit allowed me much more freedom in manipulating materials. I didn't have a good enough bitmap to use either. I welcome any suggestions that anyone might have. After having tried out the Vue 7 versions, I am looking at purchasing Vue 7 Complete when I can. Thanks again for your comments! I just found a bitmap and app;ied it to the water material. It helped.
