The Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne is placed directly by the central station and leades over the river Rhine. So its a symbol for farewell often. But its a symbol for love too. Couples from many places and in all kinds leave a small padlock on the fences of this bridge. Many of these locks are engraved, and everyone tells a little (love)story. The ritual is too attach the lock, lock it by key and throw this key into the river. By now there are some hundred locks and the number keeps groving. The "Bahn" which is the Railway Company and for this the legal "owner" of the bridge, first wanted to remove all locks. But they didn´t and so there is another little story out there that makes you smile
