Description

I actually put this together about a year ago but have not had a whole lot of time to play in photoshop. Any suggestions on how to get 2d backgrounds and 3d models to pull together better would be greatly appreciated. Home was built and rendered in ArchiCad and the attempt at a background was in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing.

try to use 2d backgrounds as map on the plane, or 2 planes at 90 degrees or a sfere, but inside the sfere, or if you can use multiple planes whith alfa maps!! very nice hause!! keep that way!!

Very nice start. I'm not familiar with that software, however if it allows you to pull, say, an object file, I'd recommend trying to find a free render engine that supports global illumination. You can always find free models for the background. The key, in my opinion, to realism is lighting.... if you need a hand .... chiphook@msn.com

This model and scene needs a much better render engine than AC render engine! I don't know which version you use, but non of the versions' render engine can get close to for e.g. Artlantis 2.0! This is a very simple/useful and easy-to-use software, which is specialized for architectural viewing! You should try this out! I used to deal with it, and I use ArchiCAD too, so belive me this program can be learnt in one week and you can make really good pictures from the first time! I suggest you should try this out! AC11 and AC12 perfectly support this software basically!

You should come to the office. We can experiment with AC11 to see what we can do as far as rendering goes. Architecture 2008 use the Mental Ray render engine, same as in 3DS Max. And it supports Global Illumination, that is why what I render come out looking nearly real. I also have a plug-in that allows me to place all the trees, people, furniture, vehicle, etc with-in the model before any rendering takes place. I think you did a awesome job with this rendering. Be Blessed!

You are already doing quite well. My skills with the software aren't up to yours yet. One thing that I think will help out is if you can introduce some blur into the foreground render. Preferably some type of lens affect. Render the foreground with an alpha channel and use that as a mask. Then you can composite the foreground on top of the background with the compositor of your choice. At least that is how I plan to it when I get there.

Nice building! I see what you want to do here, I have not used the software in question and any advice I give you would prob be the same as what Projectch3 and Ghost 29 have given you. Still its a nice image Patrick
