Description

Modeled and rendered in LW. I've resurrected my old "RudeBoy Mk.2" mech just for the heck of it and then put the Starport WIP outside as a background image. I still have to do the detail textures for the hangar (decals, safety signs, directional signage), the volumetric spotlights will be attached to a winch arm that slides along the ceiling of the hangar, and am planning to model a work crew station with task lights. Will also get an ammo trailer with a little tractor modeled in there. Am also waiting for a few preposed obj figures to insert into the scene as a ground crew working on one of the mechs, a driver for the trailer and a couple of mech pilots just walking around doing last minute inspections. These are mechs fresh off the production assembly line getting final adjustments before they're shipped off to the units where they are going to be assigned as infantry support. Hoping to use this scene as part of the project I'm working on with Franky and Obiwan. Any comments and suggestions you might have are always appreciated. Thank you very much.

Very nice work moebius. I love all the details you put into this. A couple points you may want to consider: first, your hose looks very poliginal where it bends, may want to smooth that out a bit. Second, (and this is very subjective) the city in the background seems out of proportion with the rest of the scene. The buildings are very small, telling me they are far way, but there's nothing in the fore-ground. It seems odd a mech hanger would have nothing around it (wouldn't we expect to see a factory outside the hanger?). Last, and very least, you may want to dirty the whole place up a bit. If it's where the mechs are built, I would expect to see all kinds of dust and industrial grime covering the place, especially in those small nooks and crannies. Even more so if they leave the door open ;). The floor just seems too clean and unmared to have had fifty ton mechs walking around on it (now that would definetly scratch the cement a bit). Beautiful lighting by the way. Can't wait to see the final!

Thanks, blurededge! Those are the kind of comments that help me get it right. Sometimes I get too close to an image, and I get very sloppy about the details. Other times I bury myself in the details and I miss out on the overall "correctness" (it's got to feel right) of the pic. :o)

OMG! I never rialized how mutch of your stuff I have! I'm curently working on an image using your rudeboy. Love the mech, has a nice gritty military mech look to it. Oh just thought you might be intrested in knowing that if you remove the legs on it it makes a realy sweet hover tank?
