Description

Bryce 6.1,DazStudio,Photoshop This image began with a new outfit I picked up from Daz3D,then progressed into an exercise in combining phototextures and presets(with some experimenting in the DTE).Then I customized the sky, atmo and lighting.I tried to add some bizarre tree formations, but Bryce crashed(luckily I had saved up to that point!),so I decided that my tracker needed a mode of transport and set about creating a hoverbike from positive and negative prims. Two hours later, with a few custom metal textures, the hoverbike completed the scene.Postwork in Photoshop included signature, footprints and some touch-ups in the foreground terrain where the rocks met the ground texture. Michael 3,hi-rez skin texture and Marauder outfit all from Daz3D and posed in DazStudio.Terrain textures from cgtextures.com(as is the texture used on the hoverbike). Thanks for viewing, your previous comments, and any you wish to leave!

Very nice detail work you have included here, Neil. Well done atmospherics for this 'other world' planet. Your hoverbike is unique in design and details.

Well, grafikeer I keep an eye on your work over at Daz3d. You have a particular style like no one else. You seem to like low contrast images, not too color saturated. Fine by me! In this scene I like everything except the sense of scale. For me the haze is far too much, and I feel it separates me as a viewer from the intimacy of the scene a tad bit. Also, these haze settings give a sense of scale that makes me think Michael is as tall as a hill or a mountain, which probably is not the case, but again the thick haze causes this scaling impression. I can imagine a planet with alot of greehouse gases, maybe a planet that is still in an active volcanic stage of cooling. I imagine that such a carbon rich atmosphere would be hazy in just this way. Hooverbike works really well and looks like it would be fun to drive. Now what is Michael about to fire upon? Some alien sea creature likely!

First of all, the color of the lighting and how you have used it is very fine work. I can see why rashadcarter might feel the scale of things is a bit off, because the pile of rocks that are the most far away can trick one into thinking they are huge far off mountains. I didn't even see it that way until I read rashadcarter's comment. As for the trees, did you try to render them as alpha planes? That's what I do for a lot of my Bryce forests.

Say...thats a nice bike. Would like to see the view panned left a little so you could see his quarry in the distance. Nice work!

Great model, as always. I hadn't seen the scale problem. I understand rashadcarter point of view but I didn't have that perception myself. The lighting is great also, very alien. Good job!

Nice looking hoverbike Neil, I like the golden finish it has. Great looking landscape and shame about the trees though. Tony.
